Heal Country - Naidoc Day

The Inverell NAIDOC Committee would like to invite you to attend our local 2021 NAIDOC celebration, service providers and local support groups are encouraged to come along and have a stall in Victoria Park, and our community, schools, and preschools to march and participate in any aspect of the event.

Show your support by wearing our colours Red, Black and Yellow or wear your favourite Aboriginal designed shirt in support of the event and with restrictions easing everyone is welcome to join us for the much anticipated event planned for FREEDOM DAY, on Wednesday 15th December 2021, but despite that, we will be observing safety precautions for all

  • Masks made available on the day.

The day will begin with an assembly at 9.30am at the back of the New Armajun building (Car park) 3 Rivers St, Inverell. We will start to register people at that point and the march will depart at 9.45am, proceeding to Victoria Park via Otho, Byron, then Vivian Streets.

This is what we have planned but still working on other items, but basically, it is time to Heal Country and our community, and we invite all of you to come together and support one another as we end this tough year.

Itinerary for the day.

9:30am – Muster at  Armajun AHS Carpark 3 Rivers St Inverell

9:45am – NAIDOC March from Armajun A.H.S. (via Otho, Byron, Vivian) to Victoria Park

10:00am – 2pm:

  • Smoking Ceremony
  • Welcome to Country /NAIDOC Theme Heal Country!
  • Flag Raising
  • Poetry Reading & Yidaki
  • Aboriginal Dancers
  • FREE Sausage Sizzle
  • Live Entertainment
  • Santa Visit
