Inverell buRunda Giwiirr Mens Group
buRunda Giwiirr is aiming to run a variety of activities and programs that can support both Armajun and our local Aboriginal Men’s Groups health and well-being. In a Culturally SAFE place to socialise, learn and have a yarn with other local men.
buRunda Giwiirr translated Black Swans Aboriginal Men’s Group, buRunda meaning "Black Swan" which is our spirit totem & Giwiirr meaning “Aboriginal man’’ in the Kamilaroi / Gamilaraay language.
buRunda Giwiirr meet twice monthly on a regular basis with meetings on the second and last Friday of each month:
- Armayarn – Second Friday of the Month: 10am – 2pm
Activities include Art, Cooking, Yarning, Health Education, Cultural Awareness and Building Relations, Creating Song lines, Health Check Day 715, as well as other Men’s Health Education & Promotion.
- Cultural Trips – Last Friday of the Month: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Activities – Bush Walk, Reconnect to Country , Sharing Stories & Knowledge, Mentoring Youth, Develop healthy social skills, Workshops Training, Significant Events.
